On Thursday night, the third incarnation of the giant retail promotion known as Fashion's Night Out had retailers across the U.S. luring shoppers with drinks, celebrity appearances, and all kinds of stunts.
In New York—the city where the mammoth shopping initiative was born—revelers packed department stores like Bloomingdale's and Macy's, hit up block parties from Scoop in the meatpacking district, Opening Ceremony outside the Ace Hotel, and Teen Vogue in the West Village, and formed enormous lines to enter popular stops, including the Missoni for Target pop-up on 42nd Street and Kim Kardashian's Dash boutique in SoHo. While some retailers chose live performances and interactive games, others leveraged social media platforms and mobile apps to engage the crowds.
Elsewhere, we had reporters and photographers on the ground in six additional cities—Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, Boston, Miami, and Orlando—checking out everything from Paul Frank's tattoos (Los Angeles) and Gilt City's tarot-reading gypsies (Washington) to the Playboy bunnies at Bloomingdale's (Chicago), and the ballerinas at Neiman Marcus (Orlando).
Here's a look at some of the biggest, boldest, and most engaging efforts from more than 50 events around the country for Fashion's Night Out.
